We, the Members of United Federation of Planets: Galaxy Command, a global Sci-Fi Fan Association, believe that the ideals and philosophies that Gene Roddenberry portrayed in the Star Trek Original Series, The Next Generation Series, The Deep Space Nine Series, The Voyager Series, and the Enterprise Series are an attainable goal for Humanity.
Working with one another and putting aside discriminations of all kinds; race, gender, age, ethnicity, etc. Humanity can know a sense of peace and prosperity like never before.
It is our goal to work towards that through practical and responsible actions. Through education and mentoring of our youth, volunteer service within our communities and nations, and global communications amongst each other, we can better understand each other and ourselves. We need to stress tolerance and knowledge to our children; they will learn that by our example and how we conduct ourselves daily.
This organization is not only a volunteer group but a social one as well. It allows Sci-Fi fans in various communities to join regularly and share their common interest in Star Trek. They can exercise this interest through gaming, model building, convention planning and participation, website support, getting together to watch movies and episodes, going bowling, etc.
Members are limited only by their imagination. The United Federation of Planets: Galaxy Command Joint Chiefs are working to offer new avenues and opportunities for members to express their fandom.
The United Federation of Planets: Galaxy Command was founded on May 8th, 1987, and enjoyed a steady growth in membership and chapter development worldwide. After the ascension of Rick Berman to Executive Producer, the state of the Star Trek franchise began to suffer, and fandom started a slow slide to apathy.
Now the Joint Chiefs have begun an extensive reorganization and rejuvenation of its fan association. Our goal is to bring back the strength of fandom and its historical commitment to community service while still having fun and making new friends lasting a lifetime.
Finally, your Chapter. Why are the chapters important? For this reason, outside of your family, your chapter shipmates are your support line in the community. One determined person can make a difference, but a group of dedicated and purposeful people can create miracles.
The mission and purpose of UFPGC are to advance the ideals of Star Trek as envisioned by its creator, Gene Roddenberry so that they become a reality by:
